In the framework of the SMARTCATs COST Action (www.smartcats.eu), the Institute of Research on Combustion (CNR) organized the Workshop on “Data Collection and Mining toward the Virtual Chemistry of Smart Energy Carriers”, related to Action workgroup 4 activities. The Workshop took place on 5-6 April 2016 at University Federico II of Naples, Scuola Politecnica e delle Scienze di Base, Italy. The Workshop aimed at collecting qualified opinions, experiences as well as questions and needs for stimulating the discussion on the main requirements and tools for the development of e-infrastructures, databases, software and mathematical tools for data collection and handling as well as chemistry optimization of Smart Energy Carriers.

SCRAMSPACE is the first and largest project funded by the Australian Space Research Program. It builds on Australia's world-class hypersonics heritage, and its core objective is to build capacity and capability, in particular a talent pool, for the Australian space and aerospace industry. While the final stage of the project, the flight test, did not deliver hypersonic flight data, the ground testing and modelling and analysis components of the project delivered many important research results that will be published in papers and theses in the coming years.

In 2016 Buildcorp delivered our latest project for the University of Queensland (UQ), a significant refurbishment of their iconic Forgan Smith building, the centrepiece of the Great Court at UQ’s St Lucia campus. The innovative and complex project involved early contractor involvement to optimise the program and devise the best way to protect the heritage façade whilst creating a contemporary new facility.
The University of Queensland is one of the largest universities in Australia with over 50,000 students (including 12,000 international students). It is ranked #4 in Australia and #60 in the world in the most recent World University Rankings (2015-2016). I studied there for a number of years and recently re-visted the main campus at St. Lucia to see how things were looking! I visited in January so there weren't many students around as the main university year runs from February to November. Also, this video just shows a portion of the campus which is significantly larger than what is seen in this footage. Architecture students at The University of Queensland are proposing new designs for the controversial Queen's Wharf Brisbane Integrated Resort Development. Over a 12-week period, the 22 students worked in groups to visualise the current proposal as well as understand the potential impacts, and propose alternative building forms and a site master plan.
