Gayathri Rajagopal talks about UQ’s O to 4 Mentor program, now available at the Gatton Campus. The program gives support to new students by providing them with a mentor to help them with the transition into university life.
Michelle, Alan and Ray came from China to complete high school in Brisbane and to study at a world-class university. They chose The University of Queensland and have had a great experience. Michelle went to Indooroopilly State High School and now studies a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons)(Software) at UQ. Alan studied at Kedron State High School and is now at The University of Queensland studying a Bachelor of Information Technology. Ray went to Mount Gravatt State High School and now studies a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) (Civil).
O-Week Festival is a week of social and academic activities that introduce UQ students to life and study at UQ.
Associate Professor Tony Roberts talks about the new Master of Data Science at UQ in 2017. The Master of Data Science brings together areas of computing, statistics, and mathematics to solve contemporary big data challenges across business, social, government, and health data. With high demand for competent data scientists, find out how you can be expertly prepared to work in Australia or overseas across a large number of industry sectors, government agencies, high technology companies, as well as consulting and market research firms. SCRAMSPACE is the first and largest project funded by the Australian Space Research Program. It builds on Australia's world-class hypersonics heritage, and its core objective is to build capacity and capability, in particular a talent pool, for the Australian space and aerospace industry. While the final stage of the project, the flight test, did not deliver hypersonic flight data, the ground testing and modelling and analysis components of the project delivered many important research results that will be published in papers and theses in the coming years.
I spent my life twenty years in the basin
My only friend was a man of much more
He lied with power in his weary eyes 'till day came
And all at once I knew his name
Giles of the river...comin' in to make my precious day
Giles of the river...comin' in to tell one tale and take
My breath away...and he's on his way
He took me down through good times late departed
And through the world as it was and will be
By bad self I watched you as you hung your head out my door
But you won't grieve me no more
